Firstly, thank you for visiting my fundraising page. In December 2008 I am going to climb the tallest free standing mountain in the world, Mount Kilimanjaro. That's 5,896m, which is more than 3,000m higher than I have ever been. This could be seen as a mid-life crisis, but I prefer the term mid-life celebration! I need to raise £3,000 in sponsorship to do this - and 80% of this amount (£2,400) has to be raised by 10 September 2008. Of the £3,000 total, £1,500 is to cover the cost of the trip and so I will be paying this myself. The other £1,500 (plus any extras over the £3,000) will go to Engineers Against Poverty. EAP is an independent charity established about 10 years ago to work with industry, government and civil society to fight poverty and promote sustainable development. www.engineersagainstpoverty.org
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me to climb Mount Kilimanjaro: Engineers Against Poverty will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Any sponsorship, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated - by me and by Engineers Against Poverty. Many thanks for your support.
