Six years ago (yes, SIX) some of you may recall me running the London Marathon and swearing (literally at times) that it would be my first, last and only. Well here we are in 2008 - seven marathons later and with no sign of the madness abating. Each year I try and run for a charity that has been significant in my life, or the lives of people close to me and this year is no different.

In the last couple of years a number of my firends and loved ones have experienced cancer in their families. For some this has meant long courses of difficult treatment, followed by agonising follow up checks. Others weren't so lucky and this has had devastating effects on their families.

So this year my 26.2 is dedicated to all my friends who have been touched by cancer and the money I raise, however large or small the sum, will go towards helping to find a cure for this dreadful disease.
