Worthing Churches Homeless Projects - Sleepout 2009 · 31 January 2009 ·

Turning Tides, previously WCHP, believe that everyone has the right to a home, regardless of the difficulties and issues they may face in their lives. We believe in showing those who need our help that the wider community are there to support them and to offer hope for a better future.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

As I walk around Worthing and spend more time at church I can't fail to notice the issue of Homelessness in our community.  There a lots of strong views surrounding the issue and it is easy for us to sit in our nice warm homes and make judgements.  Having visited the local shelters to deliver Harvest gifts the thing that has struck me most was how many of the people staying there were just 'ordinary people.'  We tend to assume all homeless people are addicts of some kind and some of them are, but many are people just like you and me whose lives have taken a turn for the worst.  I'll say no more but please hold that in mind and think of me...FREEZING for the night and SPONSOR ME!!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Worthing Churches Homeless Projects gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Many thanks, Sue
