On April 25th this year, I am going to fly 'loop the loop' in a glider (plane without an engine!) Why would I do something quite so crazy?  Well in the hope of raising money for the charity "Hope and Aid Direct".  I will be in Dunstable if you feel like a day out to watch (has anyone got a parachute I can borrow!!)

This money will help provide a convoy  that will travel to Kosovo in the Autumn to deliver aid, support and give friendship to those who need it, irrespective of what part of Kosovo they are from, their ethnicity or their religion.  A friend of mine, Sarah Oliver, will be working with that convoy for the second time.

The aid delivered is so desperately needed just to give even a basic amount of food, clothing and support for the cold winter months ahead. We are generously supported in many ways in this country, but buying food supplies and transporting and delivering the donated aid  takes not just volunteers, but costs time and money and so your support is very much needed even during times of economic difficulty at home.

On the October 2008 trip, 12 lorries travelled a round trip of 3976 miles to deliver 78 tons of aid which, along with items bought in country, enabled the team to deliver aid  and to deliver a  "school in a box" to eight schools. The volunteers plan to support a similar number of people on this next trip.

It costs £4000 to send a truck to Kosovoso and I would like to raise a share of these costs so thank you for visiting this page and considering sponsoring my flying madness..
