Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. This year I have decided, I cannot tell you why, to challenge myself to run as many runs as possible - 5K, 10K and possibly more... in aid of Isabel Hospice.
Isabel Hospice does some amazing work and deserves all the help we can give.
I'm not an experienced runner - I managed one 10K run last year so this is a huge challenge for me. Here are the runs I have planned so far but I will be adding to this as I can through the year:
1 March - 5K - Knebworth - Completed in 36mins. A bit slow but I haven't managed to do any training since injuring myself snowboading. Back in it now though so bring on May!
10 May - 10K - St Albans - Completed in 1 hour 8 mins. A little slow again but it's the taking part that counts :-)
7 June - 5K - Welwyn - Completed in a personal best time of 28 mins. Must say a special thank you to Laura for letting me off drinking on her birthday celebrations which no doubt helped achieve this time. Oh and thank you to the torrential rain for stopping for the run!
27 June - 10 mile midnight walk - St Albans - Completed with my mum and sister, som flashing bunny ears and a flashing wand, in 2 hours 34 mins. Brilliant.
28 June - 10K - Watford - Completed after just 5 hours sleep and the 10 mile walk the night before in 1 hour 9 mins. What with the lack of sleep and the 25 degree heat, I'm pretty pleased with that!
19 July - 5K - St Albans - Completed in 35 mins, who knew I could run up hills?
26 July - 5k - Windsor (afternoon race) - Completed in 32 mins, it was a lovely view of the racecourse
6 September - 10 mile - Welwyn - Completed in 1 hour 58 mins - what a struggle!
11 October - Royal Parks Half Marathon - Completed in 2 hours 39 mins - amazing. Possibly my biggest ever achievement!
17 October - 10K - Hatfield House - Completed in 1 hour 2 - personal best :-)
Each of these is for a different charity and I will be making personal donations to each of these so they don't miss out either.
Thanks for all your support. I'm now done for 2009....but what's this? Isabel Hospice has given me the chance to run the 2010 London Marathon.....ARGH....watch this space :-)
