The Esther Benjamins Trust is a children's charity working mainly in Nepal. It aims to give a childhood back to some of the world's most marginalised and forgotten children, including innocent children who once lived in prisons, street children, deaf and disabled children and children who have been trafficked into India and sold into bonded labour as circus performers.

In November 2008 Bill and I had a wonderful experience in Bhairawa, Nepal, working for the Esther Benjamins Trust with deaf students and young women rescued from Indian circuses. Please watch the short video on this page about our experience The Trust has been rescuing children from circuses and prisons since 1999 and now more than ever needs financial support. My children,Ella and Graham and I, acompanied by several family friends are running the BUPA 10,000 to help EBTrust to raise funds during this very challenging year.

We shall be dressed as sad clowns to highlight the work of the Trust and convey the message that for children life in a circus, deprived of education, family and other basic rights is no joke.
