Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. I feel unbelievably lucky to have been chosen to cycle round India with Fern and Julie from ITV's This Morning programme, along with 100 other women, to raise funds for the Women for Women charity. You can watch our progress live on ITV's This Morning from 16th November if you really want a laugh and see me in cycling shorts puffing my way around India!!
I would like to dedicate my fundraising efforts to the memory of Mel and Nick's babies, Twiga and Elsie, who both very sadly died last year due to complications. The charity exists to support and fund leading women scientist and clinicians to research and improve exactly these conditions and helps many many women each year.
Those of you who know me will know just how much I hate exercising, how unfit I am and how much weight I have gained over the last few years - this really is going to be very tough challenge for me! I have 3 months to get fit for this challenge and to raise my target of £4,000 for Women for Women. So please please dig deep and sponsor me online.
********** UPDATE - 4th October ***********
Training and fundraising is going amazingly well!! I have lost 12lbs in weight so far and am cycling longer and longer distances - 30 miles feels comfortable now (on the flat anyway!!!). Our 15 hour non-stop static cycle ride at Rivermead Leisure centre raised a staggering amount, over £500 in total and the distance cycled over the day was more than the entire India ride!! So a massive thank you to everybody involved!
I have raised my fundraising target to £4,000 as there is still 6 weeks to go and I really think we can reach it!! So please keep donating generously for this fantastic charity!!!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Women for Women will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
Lots of Love, Susie x
