Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page

On the 5th July 2006 I undertook one of the biggest physical challenges of my life, by taking part in a ten day “Charity Challenge” to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. At 5,895m, Mt. Kilimanjaro is one of the largest volcanoes ever to break through the Earth’s crust. My challenge was to reach its summit   and with much hard work, determination and a fantastic group of like minded fund raisers reached my aim on Thursday the 13th July.

My adoptive mother who has done so much for me in my life was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease over ten years ago. I am ashamed to say that it was only in December when I attended the Parkinson’s Disease Society’s Christmas Carol Event and saw people at different stages of PD that the full impact of her situation dawned. I decided for the first time in my life to do something to support the charity that supports people like my mother on a day to day basis.  So please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Parkinson's Disease Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your kind support, and to those who have currently supported me with my expedition
