Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page

In 2007 I had open heart surgery to repair my aortic valve at the Manchester Royal Infirmary. 5 months later I  started  running with my brother to help me  with my recovery and to build up my fitness. I entered my 1st Great Manchester run In May 2008  and completed the 10k distance in 1.06.31 with all the support of my family and friends. I continued my training and entered my 1st half marathon in Birmingham in 2011 with  my time of 2.13.36. I am in training now for my 7th Great Manchester Run on 18th May  and my  3rd Great North run on 7th September for Carrieonfighting fund for research into  Muscular Dystrophy. My heart surgeon  warned me that my aortic valve repair may last up to 10yrs from when I had my surgery so I am trying to run   for as long as I can and raise funds.
