Story
Hi there!
There’s nothing like a good challenge, especially a really tough one. So when back in April 2008 at the end of a REALLY good wedding reception, I was challenged to run the London Marathon in 2009, I thought WHY NOT??
So here I am, in training already for what everyone tells me is going to be one of the best experiences of my life. It will probably also be one of the most painful (especially during the dreaded winter months) but we won’t dwell on that!
The great thing about all this, and the one that truly spurs me on, is the memory of my great friend Lizzie who died of rectal cancer in 1999. We’d talked of running a marathon together, so it’s a real plus that the charity I’m running for, St. Mark’s Hospital Foundation, is one that relates directly to Lizzie’s story. St. Mark’s is Britain’s leading hospital in the field of colorectal diseases, funding research as well as offering state of the art therapies, and as such I believe it’s the charity Lizzie would have chosen herself. So please, dig deep!
Thanks for visiting my webpage, and wish me luck!!!....
