Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm sure many of you already know that I've managed to kick my 5k habit this year. I've been out braving the Scottish summer, come rain, shine and sometimes hailstones, in preparation for running my first half marathon, the Great Scottish Run on the 2nd September.
I'm raising money for Vision Aid Overseas, a fantastic charity dedicated to transforming access to eyecare services in developing countries. 10% (670 million) of the world's population are visually impaired simply because they cannot get the glasses they need. 90% of the 670 million live in low and middle income countries.
I intend to volunteer on a trip with VAO at some point in the next year. It costs on average £1500 to send an Optometrist on one of these trips. To volunteer on a trip I personally have to donate £750, and I'm hoping to raise the other £750 in sponsorship.
