Flora London Marathon 2007 · 22 April 2007 ·

Every two hours, someone in the UK will become paralysed. Globally, it is estimated that 15.4 million people are living with paralysis. At Spinal Research our vision is to create a world where paralysis can be cured, no matter when the injury occurred or where in the world.

Story

Friends, family and well-wishers....

Well here I am again.. another year older, and you would hope a little wiser...

Firstly thank you to everyone who sponsored me last year and helped me raise an amazing total of £3000.00 for Spinal Research.

I'm excited and proud to be raising money again for the charity, whose aim is to find ways of repairing the spinal cord and reverse the devastating effects of paralysis which results from it.

For those of you who don't know...this is why I do it!!!!

Many of you will be aware that I suffered two crushed vertebrate in a car crash a few years back
and I know only too well what a narrow escape I had from permanent disability, so consider myself incredibly lucky to be able to run this race at all. This is why I put so much effort into training for the marathon, and as I discovered for the first time last year, 26 miles is a damned long way and it does hurt.... a lot!!!! This year I will be aiming to beat last years finishing position of 24810th. Your sponsorship will drive me on.

And finally,.....

Inevitably, I now have to ask you for your support and it's the bit I'm not so good at, but this is a really worthwhile cause and at the end of the day if you donate... you don't need to do the run!!!  Please put your hands in your pockets and donate whatever you can... every little helps!!

Many thanks for your support. Suzi Xx
