We did it - we ran the London Marathon! My official time 5h 39m 11s and Mark's 5h 19m 34s. Post-race photo attached. We had an absolutely amazing day, the crowds were fantastic and all the months of training proved to be worth it. We're now having a week or so off before we decide on the next challenge! ________________________________________________________________ Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by! In less than one week we will be running the London Marathon for the wonderful charity that is Carers UK! Help us push our fundraising total up a little bit higher to give us that extra inspiration when we hit the dreaded wall on Sunday! Many carers give up their careers, their homes, their whole lives, in order to care for a loved one. They do this with little practical help or financial support and as a result, many are forced to live in poverty and poor health. The Government rewards them with only £48 to live on each week. Carers UK thinks this needs to change and are campaigning for a better deal for carers in the future, and informing carers about their rights and where they can go to get support now. It’s such an important cause and every donation is really appreciated, no matter how small. To find out more about Carers UK go to www.carersuk.org. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Carers UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. If you prefer not to sponsor us online you can send a cheque, along with your full name and address to Christine Swarbrick, Carers UK, 23 New Mount Street, Manchester M4 4DE. Don't forget to mention if you are a UK taxpayer.
Many thanks for your support. Christine & Mark
