Thanks for visiting our Just Giving page.

With your support  we hope our swim,  scheduled for 6th – 12th August 2009,  will be a big success and in doing so we can raise a decent sum of money for Just a Drop,  a charity that provides safe clean drinking water to some of the world’s most needy people.

Neither of us are experienced long distance swimmers, in fact it is the first time we have attempted anything like this but, inspired by David Walliams and James Cracknell, we believe we can do it !  The swim from Spain to Morocco  is 12 miles (20km) and on the way we expect to be dodging waves, whales, sharks and ships.  The rules for the crossing are the same as those for the English Channel,  swimmers can only wear hats, goggles and trunks and an (optional) coating of goose fat to ward off the cold!    Strong winds,  chilly water and fast tidal currents are the main challenges but we hope the training we’re doing will give us a good chance of making it.

Giving money in the face of a recession is not easy  but whatever you can donate will make a difference to the lives of people less well off than we are.

Thanks for your support!    Ian & Rob.
