My story
WE HAVE DONE IT!!!!!
Lengths to cover: 23,200
LENGTHS COVERED: 23,271
We are swimmig the equivalent of the length of Lake Malawi, Africa, which is 580 km long. This is 23,200 lengths of a 25m standard pool. We will be swimming 'Lake Malawi' during the month of June. This means we will swim everyday for 30 days.
We’re raising money for Ripple Africa which is a British charity set up in the Nkahata Bay region of Malawi. I (Gemma Starkins) spent 4 months last year working as a volunteer teacher teaching in 6 pre-schools in the area. The money raised will go towards some of the projects the charity has set up such as environmental support, health care and education. To find out more about the charity visit www.rippleafrica.org
