Over 100,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

***UPDATE***

I begin my aquatic journey at 7am in Gracemount with the fine company of the 'early bird' swimmers. The staff at all the pools were truly welcoming and the public at large very supportive. The day remained remarkably on schedule until the last leg where a wrong turn on the old railway between Leith and Portobello resulted in a slight deviation to my planned portage. However, I made it to the promenade baths at 7.25pm, in good time for my final length before closing time at 7.40pm. Then, true to script, I made the short walk down the beach and in to the sea to look to the horizon and have a few thoughts about Mum.

Very many thanks to all my sponsors and to the following:

Edinburgh Leisure, Virgin Active, One Spa, Caledonian Hilton, Drumsheugh Baths and Westwoods; Jo Hanley, photographer and Dan Warren, director/film-maker for miraculously staying one step ahead at all times; Matt and Dad for general support and road-side first aid; Hectors of Stockbridge for genorously providing lunch; Desmond for tea, biscuits and true Leither directions; Portobello's newly opened Esplanade bar, aka 'The Espy' 62 Bath St, for providing a fine sea-front venue for the post event bash, great food too; and finally Preston Pfanz and the Seaton Sands for awakening the ghosts of the sea with their oceanic riff-laiden sounds. And fine Hawaiian tailoring.

Stars one and all.

Does anyone know a good podiatrist?
