Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!  As you've found this, you might already know about the challenge I've set myself for July this year, but I'll do a brief synopsis for those who don't!

 

I am going to attempt to "Swim the Minch", the stretch of water from mainland Scotland to the Outer Hebrides.  We have planned out a route that is approximately 15 miles - give or take a couple depending on the tides on the day! - from the Isle of Skye to the Isle of Harris. 

 

I've decided to raise money for two charities with this event - one local and one national, as I think this represents the cross-channel swim well!   The local charity is The Leanne Trust, which is a new charity on the Isle of Lewis. It provides funding for special treats for young cystic fibrosis sufferers in the highlands and Western Isles. This fund provides a unique opportunity for CF patients to do something really special - a chance to create happy memories. The national charity I have chosen is Breast Cancer Care, a charity close to my heart.  I have had to create 2 pages as JustGiving can't split money raised, so I hope that's not too confusing.

Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
