Denis Ignatjev (Symantec PreSales) and Graeme Whitty (Symantec Technical Support) are mounting a one company, one team expedition to take Symantec to the top of Europe.

During June/July 2008 we are undertaking an expedition to climb the highest mountain in Europe. Mount Elbrus in Russia rises to 5642m (18, 510) ft. Scaling this mountain is a very challenging mental and physical undertaking that will test a range of mountaineering techniques over an amount of days that Mother Nature will help determine.

As part of this effort we would like to help raise money for charity by way of the Valerie Taylor Trust. Funds contribute to treatment costs of poor patients at the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) in Dhaka, Bangladesh (http://www.crp-bangladesh.org/ & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ppu6zKQ3CU).

Last year Graeme had the opportunity to meet with a very special lady who has dedicated her career to the care, treatment and rehabilitation of the paralysed. CRP founder, Valerie Taylor. Valerie is decorated with numerous awards; amongst many is O.B.E. (Order of the British Empire for her outstanding efforts providing holistic treatment for the paralysed) and also the “Shadhinota Dibosh Podok” the highest civilian award of Bangladesh.

During that trip Graeme had the opportunity to visit the CRP and witness the magnificent work undertaken by Valerie and the CRP overall. Please help us raise funds for this most deserving of charitable causes.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Valerie Taylor Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
