Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page in aid of Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.
I'm very proud to announce the team completed our challange paddling from the source of the Thames in Wiltshire covering all the 114 miles to the finish line at Windsor. Our journey took 4 days covering circa 30 miles a day and was a far greater test of endurance than anyone had anticipated. Whilst the photos attached show big smiles and some sunshine, the majority of the trip was in sub 5 degree temperatures, head wind and rain, pushing the team to the grueling limits. What really kept our spirits up was knowing all the support we had recieved and the great cause in which we were doing it for.
The team have a great number of people to thank, Stanborough Lakes for the loan of the boat, Jennie and James for their undivided support for the crew and organisation skills. Richard and Mel, and John and Mary for accomodating a big bunch of tired and weary strangers as we travelled through. Family and Friends for encoragement en route and a fanastic finishing line fanfare. Not least forgetting all the generous donations.
We hope to repeat the event next year in foreign waters so if your considering a brilliant opportunity to raise money for a brilliant cause then don't hesitate to get in touch. I think the photos attached help to paint the picture.
My enormous and heartfelt thanks to the team and all who have donated. You are heroic.
