Story
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
As some of you may be aware, we have undertaken the gruelling (if not a little crazy!!) challenge of hiking across some of the most breathtaking scenery in the world to follow the Inca Trail in Peru during May 2007. We shall be doing this in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief and aim to raise £6,000 for this worthwhile charity.
With your help and support we can make this happen.
Our challenge will be both physically and mentally demanding – we will be spending four long days hiking across the Peruvian mountains, where altitude reaches 4,200m above sea level and temperatures soar to 30 degrees celsius throughout the day with a dramatical drop as low as 5 degrees overnight, as well as rough-camping in the wilderness to get us through the evenings.
Macmillan Cancer Relief work with cancer patients throughout the UK to care for them on a daily basis as well as working towards improving the research, screening and diagnosis facilities which currently exist in the UK. They also provide support for families who have been affected by cancer - many of these carers become invaluable to the victims of this terrible disease. We have both lost family members through this disease, and hold this charity very close to heart for it's outstanding work.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Macmillan Cancer Relief will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor us!
Many thanks for your support.
