Yorkshire is one of the regions hardest hit by cancer. Together, we can change this. Yorkshire Cancer Research is a charity dedicated to finding new cancer cures and treatments and bringing them to people in Yorkshire. Our aim is for more people to survive cancer, in Yorkshire and beyond.

Story

Greetings.

Some of you who know me may be wondering what I am up to this time…

In April 2006, I have completed one of my goals, crossing the finish line of the 21st Marathon des Sables – said to be the toughest foot race on the planet – and raised money for a charity. I am running again in June 2008, this time in the Gobi Desert, along 250km in 6 days, carrying all I need for the race on my back...

As I did for the Marathon des Sables, I have decided to take part in the race on behalf of the Yorkshire Cancer Research. Since the last race, I had opportunities to meet people that are fighting cancer in one way or the other. There are so many children and adults fighting the disease who could receive help in achieving their own dreams with any advancement in the cancer research work. If I can be of any help in assisting the Yorkshire Cancer Research with their activities that give hope to those in needs, then I willingly do so.

Walking throughout the night alone under the moonlight in the Sahara Desert, getting my way through the devastating sandstorm, and all other amazing experiences I had in the Sahara made me revisit the realisation of the nature’s greatness and the seriousness of the current environmental issues. It has also taught me the importance of helping one another in order to achieve a shared goal. Therefore, I would like to use this opportunity to run in the Gobi Desert as my way of assisting others in achieving their own dreams.

So please help and sponsor me. Any warm contribution will be grateful.

Thank you very much for your time.
