Story
We’re going to ride 10,000 miles on our tandem in aid of the disaster relief charity ShelterBox.
Riding across North America, New Zealand, Australia and Europe, our route will countries around the world where ShelterBox has offices – and help mark the tenth anniversary of the charity’s founding.
On a trailer behind us tandem will be one of the charity’s iconic green boxes – normally used to deliver emergency aid to disaster victims all over the world.
Our ShelterBox will not only contain our camping equipment and personal kit, it will also contain information about the work of the charity – to be used for publicity events and talks in hundreds of towns and cities along our route.
Through our ride, we hope to raise £100,000 by challenging schools, youth groups, cycling clubs and other community organisations to do their bit for ShelterBox.
We hope that most of this money will come through donations made direct to the various ShelterBox affiliates around the world but you can also help by donating via this Justgiving account.
For more information about what we're doing and why, read our blog - we'll also be posting regular updates about our progress after we start the trip in August 2010.
