We support Zambian children to go to school to help break the cycle of poverty.

Story

Get that beret; we're off to Paris on a Tandem!

A brief moment of inspiration (insanity as it's known by others) has turned into a (LONG) cycle through the countryside in June by two young girls ...

The journey on which Sarah and I are due to embark on in June, is set to 'take us' from grand old London to the wonderful little city across the Channel, Paris.
[The term 'take us' being used very loosely as we will in fact be pedaling our little lives away for 300 miles on what I'm sure will prove to be a very uncomfortable tandem bike!]

It's all for a good cause too - In addition to seeing the two of us attempting to balance on the bike (we won't mention trying to take corners!), if you sponsor us the money raised will go straight to helping educate kids in Zambia that have been orphaned by AIDS.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Cecily Eastwood Zambian Aids Orphans Appeal will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

IT'S ONLY 2 DAYS UNTIL WE START OUR RIDE TO PARIS...  The training has been done, the legs are conditioned, the supplies have been bought and the bicycle serviced...We're ready for the challenge.  Lots of nervous excitement evident, but we're ready for a great experience.

Thank-you so much to those of you who have already sponsored us; and to those of you that haven't yet, there is still time.  Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us now! (WE NEED ALL MONEY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, SO PLEASE DON'T WAIT!)

Many thanks for your support.
Sian & Sarah

[Massive Thank-You to Banjo Cycles in Newbury who have generously given us the use of their tandem for this challenge.]

Since 1998 Cecily's Fund has transformed the lives of thousands of the most vulnerable children in Zambia by enabling them to go to school. Education gives them a ladder out of the destitution to which they are otherwise condemned. Tragically Cecily died there in her gap year. This is her legacy.
