Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I am running the London Marathon in April 2009 (26.5 miles!) to raise money for Action Against Hunger - for over 25 years, Action Against Hunger has been at the forefront of the fight against hunger and malnutrition worldwide, especially saving the lives of malnourished children. Their teams do their utmost day after day to ensure that people are given access to the most basic of human rights – the right to food.
I worked and lived in Laos a few years ago, teaching English and supporting an ongoing project which provided food, medical supplies and clothes to local street kids - for the first time I was very close to people in desperate need. These are the kind of people that Action Against Hunger are helping.
My sister Louise works full time for Action Against Hunger and has first hand experience of working on some of their key projects, seeing exactly how funds are spent. Action Against Hunger’s teams provide for people’s immediate needs when food is scarce and responds to worldwide crisis's. Louise has recently been to India to an area which has been badly affected by flooding, leaving thousands of families and children without food. This is the kind of work that your sponsorship money will help to support.
Training: I completed the Great South Run last October, have recently joined a running club and am entered in several races between now and April, including the Wokingham Half Marathon, Cranleigh 21 miles and the Kingston 16 miler, all in preparation for the big day!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Action Against Hunger UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your support.
Love Tara x
