Raising funds for King's College Hospital, London, UK.

If it weren't for the skill and dedication of the staff at King's, my 2 year-old daughter, Tara Huckle, would not be alive today. A scan on the 6th of August 2009 showed that she was suffering from a tennis ball sized tumour that was preventing her draining brain fluid properly and putting her in grave danger. As a result, she was rushed to King's needing a 12 hour operation to save her life. Thankfully the procedure was successful; if you saw how well Tara looks now, a few months after her ordeal, you would not believe what she has been through!

The love and care of the staff at King's was a guiding light for the family during a very difficult time. My way of saying thank-you is to raise money through a series of challenges. This challenge is one of the most exciting to undertake in the UK - a sponsored cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats. The original challenge was to be a Trans High Atlas Cycle in Morocco, but unfortunately this event was canceled due to a lack of participants. The money raised will help fund the medical services offered at King's so that other families, when faced with similar difficult circumstances, have the benefit of the amazing care and support offered by the hospital.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving– they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

Dig deep and donate now so that more gravely ill children also have a bright future, just like Tara.

*A proportion of the money raised will go toward the cost of the challenge itself.
