One in four people know or have known someone with Alzheimer's or dementia. This means there are an estimated total of over 13 million people in thewhose partners, parents, grand-parents, friends and loved ones are directly affected by a set of diseases which are as yet, incurable.

·         The Alzheimer’s Society is the ’s leading dementia care and research charity for people with dementia, their carers and families

·         The Society provides information and support services, funds an innovative programme of research in the areas of cause, cure and care, and provides caring grants for people with dementia

·         Over 750,000 people in thehave dementia. More than half have Alzheimer’s Disease.

·         1 in 5 people over the age of 80 are affected by dementia

·         1 in 20 people over the age of 65 are affected by dementia

How your money will help… 

£25 helps pay for activity materials at a support group for people with dementia

£50 pays for a day of respite care for someone with dementia to give their carer a break

£100 helps towards the cost of a bath lift so that someone with dementia can be cared for at home 

£200 helps pay for two days’ work by a post-doctoral research assistant, and so help towards eventually finding a cure for dementia.
