Hello there,
Well, this is my first (and probably last) marathon, and I am sort of looking forward to it. When I first found out I had a place, I didn’t have a charity to run for, and was a bit reluctant to ask anyone for money, but I think the help and caring done by local charities convinced me to run for a good cause.
The Cancer Care and Haematology Fund is a fantastic unit to work in, the nursing and administrative staff are of the highest calibre, and the charity has been instrumental in providing the building, equipment, and funding of nursing staff. If we didn’t have such a unit, local residents would have to travel much further to Oxford, or to Mount Vernon. The unit has been a great support to many people in Aylesbury Vale, and surroundings. To maintain this centre of excellence needs commitment and that does mean a steady stream of funding, especially in these difficult times.
Thank you for supporting me. Taru
