I’m growing a tash for #teamirfon this Movember to raise money to support the incredible work that takes place on the Alaw Cancer Treatment Unit in Ysbyty Gwynedd
#teamirfon is a campaign set up by Irfon Williams and family to support the Alaw Unit where he is currently receiving treatment for bowel and liver cancer
In just 5 months, #teamirfon has raised over £40,000 for the North Wales NHS charity, Awyr Las. This hugely impressive sum of money will make a huge difference to the experience of patients on the Alaw Unit by funding bespoke headwear for ladies who have lost their hair following chemotherapy, complementary therapies and the construction of a dedicated counselling room on the new Alaw Unit.
I’m not well endowed in the facial hair department, and if previous attempts a growing a beard are anything to do by, I’m going to look like a bit of a prat by mid November.
Money is tight for most people at the moment, but if my bumfluff growing efforts only raise £90, it will be enough to fund a bespoke wig for a patient who has lost their hair as a result of treatment, or 3 sessions of complementary therapy like reflexology, or therapeutic massage, which are extremely highly valued by Alaw patients.
Please give what you can to support #teamirfon and patients on the Alaw Unit.
