Hello Everybody!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I decided to start this fundraising campaign to raise enough money to pay for the salary for a school teacher in Timbuktu.
This opportunity came about form a conversation had this summer with my good friend Steve Felgate who is the director of the charity Tuareg Relief. At the moment there is only one teacher for more than hundred children, but an opportunity has recently risen to hire another teacher for the equivalent of about £3000 - the target of this fundraising campaign.
Tuareg Relief is the charity umbrella for Jump4Timbuktu, the fair trade arm that donates all its profits to community projects to support the Tuareg nomadic community in and around Timbuktu. Their website offers a lot of information on what they do.
There are two ways to donate:
1) Single Donations: please use the "donate" button in this page.
2) Monthly Donations: I personally would prefer this method as we can guarantee a longer term commitment. In this way even a very small sum (e.g. £10 pcm) will have a very large impact.
To make monthly donations please visit the Tuareg Relief donation page and donate trough them.
Please send me an email (favrin@gmail.com) and let me know about your monthly donation and I will update the "offline contributions" by adding the yearly total of your donation.
As a charity Tuareg Relief can guarantee us that all the money raised through this initiative will be used exclusively for this specific purpose. I, myself, find this refreshing. For once we have the opportunity to donate the money for a specific cause and we have the guarantee that not even a penny will be used for anything else.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
