Story

Many thanks for visiting Team WB’s fundraising page as we prepare to embark on the Morrisons Great Birmingham Run.

While we may not have the speed of our near-name sakes, we are still committed to putting in a winning performance on behalf of our chosen charity, Edward’s Trust.  Just think gold star for effort rather than gold medal for coming first!

For some of our intrepid squad, it’s their first time tackling a half marathon.  Others may be gunning for a personal best, or perhaps just hoping to make it round injury free.  But one thing we all have in common is wanting to raise as much money as we can for this superb local charity – and that’s where you, our kind supporters, can help.

Edward’s Trust works with children and families facing loss and surviving bereavement.  It provides a vital support network to help people cope during what are inevitably hugely testing times and receives around 500 new referrals every year.

The charity was established in 1989 by Peter and Hilary Dent after their son Edward died of a rare form of cancer at the age of seven.  Any financial assistance Edward’s Trust receives will be invaluable in enabling it to continue caring for those who have suffered bereavement.

We hope you can make a donation to help Team WB on its way.  Running 13.1 miles across the city – and braving the course’s infamous hill, conveniently placed at mile 11 just when you’re feeling the strain – won’t be easy, but knowing we’re supporting such a worthy cause will make it immensely satisfying.

Thank you
