THc Sunrise Walk 2009 · 11 October 2009

Proudly serving the community of East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire since 1987, we provide specialist palliative & end-of-life care to people facing a terminal illness. We're committed to giving families choices about the care they receive, providing the best support at home & at the Hospice.

Story

Dear family, friends, colleagues, ex-colleagues, acquaintances, old school friends, neighbours and all the other very nice people we know. In fact everyone we receive emails from with the possible exception of Amazon, Tesco (and the spammers trying to sell us little blue pills and Russian brides),

Thank you for visiting our fund raising page. Last year many of you very kindly sponsored me to walk the 'Sunrise Walk', (6.5 miles around Windsor Great Park) and I was very grateful for your sponsorship, so thank you.

This year I'm doing it again, and to raise even more money Lizzie and I have entered as 'Team Fielder'.We are delighted to say that we are joined by the most lovely Alexa Franklin, the equally lovely Sarah Want and the most and equally lovely Sue Drayton.   Please give Alexa, Sarah & Sue a big cheer at your PC or laptop right now – even if you’re at work! Thank you.

We set off at 05.00 on Sunday 11th October, in support of Thames Hospice-care and it will probably pour down, but we are doing this, so that that people like you, can support this cause by choosing to donate ‘on line’ thus allowing you to stay in your bed!  It's a win-win situation. We walk, you give, you sleep!

We all have different reasons for taking part in the THc Sunrise Walk

I am doing the walk in memory of my wonderful friend Jackie Fox who died on the 11th April 2004, at the age 50 and in memory of the fabulous Penny Deacon, who died aged 33, on 4th April this year. They were both such free spirits and we shared a lot of laughter and of course some tears. I miss them both. So Jackie and Penny this page is also for you.

However in the last year we have lost two more people in our social groups and so are even more aware of the need to support hospices so that they can carry on caring for those in final illness. Hospices rely on donations  to keep going.

So thank you for your kindness.. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Thames Hospice care gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you for your support.

love

Charlotte, Lizzie, Alexa, Sarah and Sue.

PS If you are donating in memory of some you have lost in your family group, please  mention their name.  Raising money for THc and all hospices is important but this is also a collective act of remembrance for those we've lost and as also a mark of respect to those still grieving.
