MapAction helps people affected by disasters get the help they need when they need it most. We deploy teams of mapping experts to the scene of a disaster, so they can map priority needs and ensure appropriate aid is delivered quickly and effectively. We’re a very cost-effective charity because we work through volunteers who contribute their time and skills free of charge.

This bike ride is one of many activitives to celebrate MapAction’s 10 years of disaster mapping, so we’re aiming to raise £10,000 in sponsorship. We’re also asking people to find and photograph as many places along the way that spell out the word M-A-P-A-C-T-I-O-N-S (we added to “s” so it had 10 letters so it ties in with our 10 year anniversary). We’ll provide prizes for the most ingenious examples.
