We have a once in a lifetime opportunity to stop women dying from breast cancer.
Story
Team Solo consisting of Vicky Wren, Jemma Benson and James Richardson will be cycling the Coast 2 Coast in October in aid of the Breast Cancer Campaign.
We hope to complete the 147 mile route (Whitehaven to Sunderland) in 3 days, which along the way takes in over 2,000 feet of very hilly terrain. This is a serious challenge considering that 2 of us didn’t even own bikes until July this year (can you guess which 2?!)
This is not only a physical challenge but we have also committed to wearing pink tutus and James will be donning a pink wig throughout the ride. So not only will we be putting ourselves through pain for 3 days but we’ll also look silly too!
The Breast Cancer Campaign is a charity which funds research to help understand how breast cancer develops, leading to improved diagnosis, treatment, prevention and cure. It is an important charity to the team and especially to Vicky who sadly lost her mum to breast cancer 8 years ago. Therefore please support us in anyway you can – big or small. As Tesco would say – every little helps!
