Three Gloucestershire businessmen will be undertaking a gruelling 350 mile team race, on foot, to the North Pole, commencing on the 29th of April 2007. The team aims to raise £100,000 for the Gloucestershire-based National Star College, which, for 40 years has offered unique learning opportunities to youngsters from across the UK with complex physical disabilities and associated learning difficulties.

Team Star is made up of Steve Jones, Nick Bevan and Richard Yorke who will be spending four weeks walking 12 to 18 hours a day in temperatures as cold as -50ºC, pulling their supplies on pulks behind them. Competing against ten other teams this annual race to the Pole attracts interest from a range of media including the local, regional and national press and TV.

Team Star is seeking sponsors for the challenge to raise funds for the National Star College. In return sponsors will benefit from high profile branding at the North Pole, publicity surrounding the event and presentations on Team Star’s experiences to the sponsor’s nominated target groups. Team Star is also looking for donations from anyone who would like to contribute towards raising funds for the National Star College.
