Goodnight Walk · 21 July 2012 ·

Our vision is that patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses in our area can choose how and where they want to be cared for towards the end of life. We provide 24/7 responsive Hospice at Home care and support for all the family during the illness and through bereavement.

Story

We have decided to do the Goodnight Walk to raise money for Iain Rennie Hospice at Home. The nurses do an incredible job which touches the lives of hundreds each year. The charity supports local patients with life-threatening illness to stay at home, through a combination of day hospice care and 24/7 call-out care in patients' homes across Herts and Bucks. The charity offers support for all the family following diagnosis, during the illness and after bereavement; all these services are offered at no cost to the patient or family.

Unfortunately last year we needed the services of the Iain Rennie nurses. They were able to allow our wonderful Terrie to have her last days at home, surrounded by all her family. They were also a great comfort and help to all of us and so we wanted to do something to raise awareness and much needed funds for this wonderful organisation.
