Liam's incredible win on Mon Mome 2009

Whatever your age or ability, why not join our family and friends with a walk, run, horse ride or cycle the Grand National course distance in Liams memory on Saturday 10 April, Grand National Day - 4 Miles and 2.5 Furlongs.

Amongst Liam's many successes in life, 2009 saw Liam achieving an amazing feat - winning the Grand National, romping home on his first attempt in the toughest Steeplechase in the world on Mon Mome at 100/1

Over the course of Liams's career, Liam like many jockeys suffered some falls, which in Liam's case included some significant concussions as a result, but his passion for riding spurred him onward.

Tragically, in June 2020 Liam passed away, leaving all of our family and friends absolutely devastated. Life will never be the same without Liam however we all want to continue to make him proud.

This Saturday (Grand National Day) in Liam’s memory, friends and family in various parts of the country would like to raise funds for Headway, a UK-wide charity which works to improve life after brain injury by providing support and information to those affected.

On speaking with Headway they have acknowledged the work that Liam had undertaken previously in raising awareness of concussion in sport and is grateful that the family have chosen to continue his efforts by supporting Headway in his memory.

Liam, on Mon Mome, came in at 100-1

The Grand National course distance is 4 miles and 2.5 furlongs, that's 4.313 miles ❤

Our hope therefore, is that we can get (100 participants or donations) to each complete the course distance (4 miles and 2.5 furlongs)

And....

as Liams Grand National win was in 2009, wouldn’t it be great also if we could exceed £2009 in funding raised ?
