Memory Walk 2021
Campaign by Alzheimer's Society (RCN 296645)
This year thousands of people will walk united, against dementia. With your help, we aim to raise as much money as possible to help anyone affected by dementia.

Story

In 2014 , our grandmother (known to us as Baba) was diagnosed with dementia and early in 2020 moved into a care home in andover. While the illness stole from her many day to day functions and short term memories, her memories from her childhood and her family remained with her much longer. Her family and her favourite places were the most important thing to her and we want to honor this by walking a marathon distance stopping at each of the local places that were important in her life. Sadly, on the 20th of February, Baba passed away while we were in midst of planning our charity fundraiser. This makes our marathon walk even more poignant and makes us all the more determined to raise money and awareness for this cruel disease.
