On the 6^th March 2009, a good friend Brian Burton and I will be taking part in the 2009 Mac 4x4. The Challenge was started in 2000 and has grown ever since with all monies raised going to the Macmillan Cancer Support charity.

My motivation for taking part in this event was the first hand experience I had with the Macmillan nurses at the end of my dads fight with cancer in 2003. Although I only witnessed the work of the nurses for a few days, I am deeply aware of the importance of the support services that they provide to both the families and the patients themselves.  Without the generosity of the public, they would not be able to continue to provide such a high level of specialist care.

We are also looking for people/companies to purchase advertising space on the vehicle in return for sponsorship.

We would like to stress that 100% of the monies donated through justgiving.com and other methods will go to Macmillan Cancer Support. All expenses for completing the challenge such as fuel, vehicle preparation and insurance are covered by the participant’s themselves.
