Last year the team cycled from Lands End to John O' Groats- now the lads are back with an even bigger challenge. This time the plan is to set out from Bournemouth and take the Poole to Cherbourg ferry and then cycle down through France and over the Pyrenees into Spain. They will then return to the UK via the Santander to Plymouth ferry and complete the job by riding back from Plymouth to Bournemouth. Total distance is in the region of 1250/1400 miles and it is expected to take 14 cycling days to complete. This means that the team will be covering up to 100 miles a day. This is no mean feat when you consider that the name of the team comes from the combined ages of the four team members - 219 years !
This cycle ride is for the R.M.B.I. The Province of Dorset 2014 Festival and is fully supported by St Aldhelm's Lodge 2559
You will be able to follow the progress of the team by logging on to Trevor's blog. Go to:- www.purpletraveller.blogspot.com
