Andy's Story........

Andy had a routine chest x-ray in Feb 2012 aged 36. The x-ray picked up a shadow on his lung. In May 2012 Andy was formally diagnosed with a congenital heart defect which showed a missing heart valve and also one that was not working correctly. In November 2012 Andy had an Aortic Valve Replacement which involved open heart surgery at the Bristol Heart Institute. In February 2013 Andy had a set back where fluid had built up around the heart and had to be drained away. Thanks to the excellent work of the Bristol Heart Institute Andy was able to get back to work in May 2013 a year after his diagnosis.

To say thank you Andy's idea was to get a team together to say thank you to the Bristol Heart Institute, Dr Stephanie Curtis (Cardiologist), Mr. Andrew Parry (Surgeon) and the excellent team at the Bristol Heart Institute.
