Hello!
We are cycling 285 miles (450km) from London to Paris on the 11th June. The reason that we are embarking upon this mission is to raise money and awarness for Primary Bone Cancers, in particular Ewing's Sarcoma and Osteosarcoma.
Some of you may know that Harry's boyfriend. Pete Franklin, was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma in September 07 and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. This disease is usually found in people younger than him (he is 24) and affects less than thirty people in the UK a year. Little is know as to causes and research into it is desperately needed. We are hoping to raise as much money possible for The Bone Cancer Research Trust, a charity that fund research into the causes and treatment specifically of primary bone cancer (See more information through the link on the left).
We will be cycling around sixty to ninety miles a day, departing from Greenwich and arriving four days later in Paris, Our finishing point being the Eiffel Tower. This is going to be a huge challenge for all four of us as we are better known for eating than excersise and wine rather than lucozade sport BUT we are confident that we can complete the bike ride come hill, bum sore or high water.
We are looking to hold lots of charity events between now and June and we will keep you updated through Facebook and this page!
We are aware that everyone gets bombarded for sponsorship all the time but this cause is particularly close to our hearts so PLEASE give as generously as you can!!
THANK YOU!
Harry, Jenny, Milly, Rigs xx
