WaterAid is an international charity. Our mission is to overcome poverty by enabling the world’s poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education. We did it!

The team completed the triathlon in 2hrs 53 mins finishing 198th out of 314 - not bad considering we were competing against mainly men!

Thanks everyone for your support - I'm so glad we reached our target but please keep donating to this great cause and lets try and get the total up to £2000!

Sponsorship money raised through this triathlon will go towards CIWEM's link project with Zambia where it is estimated that only 28% of people have access to water and 24% of people have sanitation. 
WaterAid has been working in the region for 10 years and has already recorded a number of achievements - your donations will help continue their valuable work.

Here are some examples of what your money can contribute too in the region:

£7.50 buys a 50kg bag of cement to improve one latrine for 6 people

£120 pays a mason to construct a hand-dug well

£250 pays to rehabilitate a borehole fitted with a water pump that can provide up to 250 people with water

£750 pays to construct a hand-dug well with a hand pump providing water for up to 200 people with water

£4000 pays to construct a borehole with a handpump providing water for up to 250 people
