On the weekend of the 10^th of May we are attempting the ‘Great Island Challenge’ to raise funds for Seafarers UK.  Seafarers is the leading maritime charity supporting people from the Royal Navy, Merchant Navy and Fishing Fleets, who have risked their lives at sea.  Over the last ten years Seafarers UK has granted in excess of £28 million to improve the quality of life within the maritime community.

We have been challenged to sail a 40 foot yacht in a 62-mile, 10-hour race around the Isle of Wight in unpredictable weather conditions and the possibility we will be as sick as dogs!  Then the next day have to get on a bike and cycle the Round Islandcycle route for another 62 miles which is further than cycling from London to Brighton!  It will be a fantastic challenge, Are we mad? Yes, but it’s all for a great cause.
