Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Mission Complete - It gives us great pleasure to update you all with details of our successful mission.

Despite being pushed to our limits we managed to complete our epic journey in 5 Days 13 Hours and 29 Mins which secured us a 2nd place finish.

Our Average speed for the trip was 22.4 Mph (despite several detours and traffic delays) which resulted in us posting the 4th fastest time ever by a 4 Man Team. We also managed to set a new British Record along the way.

Thanks to everyone who has got behind our effort we rally do appreciate your your support.

On behalf of the riders I would also like to thank our crew for looking after us and helping us overcome some dark moments along the way.....you really are the unsung hero's!

The Race Across America is one of the most respected and longest running annual endurance events holding legendary stature the world over. It is one of the pinnacles of sporting accomplishment, globally seen as the highest rung of the endurance sports ladder. Since 1982, RAAM has a rich and storied history standing as a monument to human endeavors.

The Race Across America is an event so staggering that merely to finish is, for most, the accomplishment of a lifetime. RAAM inspires everyone that it touches. A monumental race contested with the utmost of sportsmanship and zeal. Truly, RAAM is larger than life. A breeding ground for champions, a testing ground for elite riders and a shining example of the strength of human spirit.

The route includes over 100,000 Ft of ascending including a climb up and over the Rockie Mountains.....ouch!. Weather will also play a major part as the Lads are likely to face every conceivable weather system, including hundreds of miles of head winds....a riders worse nightmare!

You may not be able to travel with the Team but friends and loved ones will be able to ensure the Boys aren't slacking by following every pedal stroke in real time on line. We have teamed up with our friends from across the pond Meta Bender who will be deploying their very neat tracking system. Details will be posted on our RAAM website nearer the time.

Meta Bender will also be filming and interviewing the Team throughout the event to share the inevitable highs and lows!

As a Team we aim to raise awareness and much needed funding for Wessex Heartbeat so we would be very grateful if you could get behind our effort and pledge your support.
