Over 150,000 of us in the UK have MS. It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We’re the MS Society. We understand what life’s like with MS. We're here for you through the highs, lows and everything in between. Together, we are strong enough to stop MS.

Story

1000 MILES!!    Starting 1st August 2009!

Land's end to John O Groats for MS

Follow our progress and PLEASE send us your comments to help us keep going. We will really need lots of support to cheer us up on those achy nights!

Check our our journey daily from 1st August on    TEAM GBR RIDE THE UK BLOG!!

Our brother, Alyn, died in July '07 after many years of living with M.S.

Last year, his son Matthew ran the London Marathon and inspired by him, team GBR came into being.

Alyn had himself completed the London Marathon as a wheelchair entrant 5 times and therefore an extreme test and celebration of our own physicality, seems a fitting tribute to him.

A spot of sisterly bonding- motivation to get fit- holiday with a difference- up close and personal with summer weather- raise funds for M.S.

                                     Great idea...best buy a bike!  - Rachel

Alyn was only in his 40's when he died.  No-one should ever have to go through what he did, and we  really need your support and donations to help others like him.

Alyn himself raised money 5 times in the London Marathon.  He always kept his sense of humour to the end and would thoroughly approve of this cycle ride.

Thanks

Bobs

We've always been so proud of Alyn's determination in taking on the London Marathon.  I was really excited when Rachel suggested this challenge.  It's going to seriously test our commitment, strength and cooperation, not to mention our map reading skills.

Imagine us trudging out into wet cold mornings, dodging lorries on scarey roads, desperately toiling up enormous hills, lost in the dark, finally crawling exhausted into bunk beds – and get your money out for the cause!

But with any luck there'll also be some bright sunny mornings, gorgeous views, whizzing downhill and great pubs and company in the evening.  Whatever comes we’ll be kept going by hearing from you lot and adding up the contributions to the MS cause.

 Love Gig x

I'm working on the pubs in the evening bit and getting lost in the dark!  Don't worry Gig!  (Bobs)

This is no mini fun run! It's a huge challenge for such ordinary mortals as we three. Maybe we won't all make it the whole way (regardless of our determination) but the Team WILL MAKE IT. Please give generously to help the MS Society.
