Story

The Artemis Highland 100 is a spectacular cycle route encompassing some of the most beautiful and historic areas of the Scottish Highlands. The event starts at Kenmore on the top side of Loch Tay and ends on the South side at Killin, but between these two points participants have a distance of 39, 52 or 83 miles to cover depending on the level chosen. This year, we are entering two teams of four with one going for the Silver distance of 52 miles, while the other team is going to attempt the Gold at 83 miles.

Both silver and the gold levels begin at 7am and entrants start the challenge by going around Schiehallion towards Kinloch Rannoch, with the gold route circumnavigating Loch Rannoch before rejoining with the silver route at Carie before tackling the first of two off-road sections; an old drovers route referred to as the 'Coffin Route' down into Innerwick. From here the two teams make their way through Glen Lyon towards Loch Lyon to complete a lap of the Loch in the second off-road section. The final stage takes us through Glen Lochay towards Killin.

The event is great personal challenge for all of those involved, although this is not the main reason for doing the event but to raise money for two very deserving charities, Cancer Research UK and Child Hospice Association for Scotland (CHAS) - which are the two charities the Artemis Foundation has decided to back with this event.

We are ready to put in the hours training and make the sacrifices necessary to get to the finish line in Killin - but that's not enough! We need your help in getting us to the start line - and we don't mean with a Transit van - but rather help us in raising the £3200 needed to enter the event.

Every donation, regardless of size will help us get to the start line & will go in full to the charities above so please give as much as you can - and don't forget to tick the Gift Aid box to help the charities that little bit more (even if it doesn't help the deficit!)
