The 10K walk is taking place on 12 June and as the name suggests starts at midnight.  We are doing the walk in memory of Karen's mum, Jean Bexley (hence our name "Team JB") to raise money for this excellent charity. Jean was well cared for in the hospice for nine weeks over last Christmas and the start of this year.

St Ann's Hospice provide palliative, respite and day care for adults in the Greater Manchester area. The care is free (for the families and patients) and about two-thirds of the cost of the care comes from donations and fund-raising events. They have three sites, with 58 beds as well as providing day care and care to people in their homes.

The staff and volunteers are fantastic and they try to accommodate the patients' and families wishes. It is unbelievable to think that they need to raise over £16,000/day just to keep the doors open. Of every £1 donated 93p goes directly to the costs of the care.
