Story
On June 20th, we are running a half marathon in the heady latitudes of Tromso, Norway. It is the world’s northern most (certified) race as it takes place within the Arctic Circle, and is also in the blazing midnight sun!
We will be running on behalf of the Aplastic Anaemia Trust, which is the only charity in the UK dedicated to a rare acquired disorder in which there is a failure of the bone marrow to produce sufficient blood cells for circulation, similar to leukaemia. It is a potentially life-threatening disease and the majority of patients require definitive treatment with immunosuppression or a stem cell transplant. The condition is chronic, but with improved support and treatment 70% to 80% of patients recover.
As always, any small amount that you could donate would be VERY gratefully received and will drive us through the harsh arctic conditions on the day.
Thank you very much!
