Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

On 7 September 2008 Talbot and I are going to make it through the 5km Run for the Future in Bristol raising funds for the Bristol Prostate Cancer Appeal.

Most of you know that running (we'll probably be jogging) isn't our most practised sport so please give us your support by donating some cash to this great charity.  To pull on the heartstrings: this charity is close to my heart as I lost my Dad to Prostate Cancer in 2006.

It is a sad fact that 30,000 men are diagnosed every year in this country with prostate cancer and over 10,000 die from the disease, equal to the number of deaths in women from breast cancer. But prostate cancer research receives only 25% of the funding spent on research into breast cancer in women. There is a diagnostic test available to screen for prostate cancer but currently only 8% of men request this potentially life-saving test.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Bristol Urological Institute gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now!
