Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·

Beat is the UK’s eating disorder charity. Our mission is to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. These serious mental illnesses ruin and, too often, take lives. Our Helpline is available online or by phone for anyone suffering, as well as their family and friends.

Story

After 5 marathons, one triathlon and many kind donations, Team Perry is set for one final marathon attempt (famous last words). To coincide with B-eats 21st anniversary (formerly EDA) we have decided to go out with a massive final fund rasing effort.

As some of you will be aware, the Perry family sadly lost their sister / daughter following a long battle with bulimia in 2004 and the desire to do something positive to help others has not diminished.

This year, we have a new team made up of three marathon virgins, a returning TP member and some able back up runners and funraisers.

The challenge will involve several miserable months of training, lots of early morning starts and several painful hours working our way round the course itself.

Team Perry has raised over £70,000 so far and we just keep going because it feels so good to try and make a difference! We know that many of you have supported us over the years, so we will appreciate any size of donation you feel able to make. As always a financial incentive for an improved/ target time is always great motivation.

These generous donations will help BEAT to continue to offer support and advice to people with eating disorders. And it couldn't be easier to make your donation. This site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us, BEAT will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your continued support for this great charity. We hope to see you somewhere on the London Marathon course!

Luke, Giles, Charlotte, Simon, Ed, Andrew, Richard, Dom, Lee.
